Jenna Leigh Calligraphy

The reason I created this blog was for many different reasons. I want to be able to promote small business and share what I truly believe in. I will only share things that I would recommend and use myself. This month, I wanted to feature Jenna Wticher, a native of Birmingham, Alabama. I had the pleasure of attending Samford Universty and pledging Alpha Delta Pi with Jenna. Although, I did have the opportunity to get to know her like others did, I knew that she stood out amongst her peers as a leader and a young woman of the Lord. See below what Jenna has to say about her love for calligraphy!

A little about Jenna...

Growing up in Birmingham, Alabama I learned that along with southern hospitality comes the art of calligraphy. The two go together so well. As someone who loves writing handwritten letters and notes, I’ve always admired the beauty in the art of calligraphy. I also love the special touch of southern charm you can add with it.

Almost two years ago my mom and I took a copperplate calligraphy class from one of the best teachers in Birmingham, Deb Warnat. It was a five week course that kick started my love for learning calligraphy. I had never used a nib and ink before, and I became mesmerized by the beauty that it creates as you write each letter. I spent the first year focusing on perfecting my skills in copperplate calligraphy, and then shifted my focus to learning modern calligraphy. Both are beautiful and draw different audiences, which is something I like to offer clients. I love using modern calligraphy to share scripture and encouragement cards, and copperplate calligraphy is a great way to add that special touch to an invitation, event, or through a gift.

Based out of Alabama, I have the opportunity to work with clients throughout the Southeast. Whether it be designing a custom work of art for you, or adding those finishing touches to your wedding invitations, I'd love the opportunity to be your calligrapher.
